Gerhard Hausladen

Gerhard Hausladen teaches and researches in the field of energy-efficient urban planning and building design. His focus is on the interaction between buildings and their energy systems and energy production, with particular involvement of renewable energy and future electric mobility. After receiving his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Technische Universität München (TUM) in 1980, Gerhard worked at the Institute for Building Technology and Building Physics in Munich. After several years working in the private sector, he taught at the University of Kassel and returned as a professor at TUM in 2001. He is a member of the Energy Commission of the City of Munich and sits on the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) review board in construction and architecture. Since 2007, he has been chairman of the board for ClimaDesign.
